Telepresence

From Wiki

With mobile awareness, whole new applications open up -- from security, to geomapping, to routing. And devices that know where they are can layer new, virtual experiences on top of the real world. What will this become?

Telepresence is being explored in a number of consumer applications today ranging from geotagging of photos to blogging mashups that layer geomapping onto the site. Telepresence has tremendous value to mapping applications. You no longer need to tell the device where you are.. just where you want to go. But the complexity behind telepresense technology whether it is based on GPS, cellular mapping, or IP mapping makes adding this “feature” to existing applications difficult and there are significant limitations in the current deployed solutions.

In this sessions, we will dig into how this new technology and more importantly, the consumer expectation it brings will impact the software and gadgets we use every day.
